🕋 1. Ghusl (Ritual Washing)
- The body is washed an odd number of times (usually 3 or 5) by same-gender Muslims.
- Done with water and sometimes scented soap or camphor.
- Special care is taken to maintain dignity and privacy.
🧕🏽 2. Kafan (Shrouding)
- The body is wrapped in plain white cloth:
- Men: 3 pieces
- Women: 5 pieces
- No fancy materials or stitching; simplicity and equality are key.
🕌 3. Janāzah Prayer (Ṣalāt al-Janāzah)
- Held at the masjid, prayer area, or cemetery.
- Consists of 4 Takbīrs:
- First Takbir – Al-Fātiḥah
- Second Takbir – Ṣalawāt (Durood) on the Prophet ﷺ
- Third Takbir – Duʿā for the deceased
- Fourth Takbir – Short concluding duʿā
- No bowing or prostration.
- The prayer is done standing only.
⚰️ 4. Burial (Dafn)
- The body is transported to the cemetery.
- Buried on their right side facing the Qiblah.
- Family/friends may lower the body into the grave.
- Duʿā is made at the graveside.
- Some pour 3 handfuls of soil.

- Grave purchase & coordination with cemetery

🤲 6. After-Burial Practices
- Family may host Qur’an readings or duʿā gatherings.
- Community encouraged to support with:
- Meals
- Presence
- Words of comfort
- Sadaqah (charity) on behalf of the deceased is recommended.
